Story:
Well this game is supposed to be a prequel for the original Perfect Dark. I would have to say that the story is horrible. Most people hate it, and it barely connects to the original. It is somewhat sort and could be completed in one day.
6/10
Graphics:
Bright and colorful, cartoony if you will. The lighting is way off, you can tell there a glare nearly on everything (even rocks). There is a blur effect that is nice, unless you get motion sickness, but it is backwards for some reason. You run left, theres a right blur effect, and vise versa. All in all it's next gen just a bit messy.
7/10
Sound:
The background music is awsome. I even considered downloading some of it. Although the intro is somewhat annoying the rest is ok. The guns are decent, but the voices are not so. Most of the voices are out of character, and Joanna (the main character) is supposed to be British but has a American accent.
7/10
Controls:
Everything is in the right place, and it even has a new few features not seen in previous games. Theres no jump button, but I don't think there needs to be. The jump function only makes multiplayer annoying and adds many unneeded glitches. Instead of a jump function you can pretty much climb anything thing reasonable, plus you can take cover under EVERYTHING. There is also a dodge button, that is useful. Dodging allows you to have a little bit of defense if your in a open area, while not giving you a advantage (you can't shoot in mid roll).
9/10
Gameplay:
Not as stealthy as you would expect, since your a spy, this game is more fast pace than anything else. The thing offers a great challenge if you just want to beat the single player. Agent is a walk in the park, Secret Agent is somewhat challenging, I have yet to beat Perfect Agent, and I can't even imagine beating it on Dark Agent. Although the bots aren't the smartest, they still pose a challenge since there accuracy and damage is high. This game has the most balanced weapons I have ever encountered (except the Super Dragon, which you can turn off if you like).
8/10
Multiplayer:
The best of the next gen is all I have to say. Along with the online Co-op you can also play pretty much two different games online. One is deathmatch which includes your basic killcount, team killcount, CTF, territories, etc. The other is Dark-Ops which in my opinion is one of the greatest parts, it has somewhat of a counter-strike feel. You start with cash, you buy stuff, and you get more cash depending if you win or lose. It keeps it balanced by if you loose a couple in a row you get more cash then the winners. Dark-Ops includes Infection, Elimination, and Onslaught, which each have there own feel. If you don't fell like playing with people this game also supports bots. Although they don't come with personalities now like they did in the original, they will in the future with a patch. There are only 6 maps as of yet, but they have several modes that can change them from small to huge. There has also been announced a few more smaller maps coming into play in the future.
10/10
Replay:
Well the single player doesn't really offer much except the increased difficulties, which can get somewhat old. The multiplayer though is another thing, with the Co-op and other great options it has plenty of replay, and I have yet to get bored of it.
9/10
Overall:
From what I hear it's mostly a love or hate thing, I love it. If you have questions then I best suggest renting it first, but if you are a hardcore Perfect Dark fan and don't want to go through that hassle then buy it.
